1. Fill out application
2. Provide a photo copy of a valid driver's license, a DMV print out of your driving record, proof of vehicle insurance showing the amount of coverage. Please include any applicable training certificates.
3. Susanville Police Department background check. The cost of the background check is $32.00 and will be reimbursed after a 6 month probation period.
4. Your application will be read to the general membership.
5. Have physician complete medical clearance form (if required)
6. Complete Physical Performance Assessment
7. Complete oral interview with membership committee.
8. Review and sign interview report.
9. Complete eight hour orientation program.
10. Application package presented to the Board of Directors.
11. Vote of membership for full status.
